Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti is the birth
anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore – A Nobel Laureate - poet, novelist,
musician, painter and playwright. The Jayanti celebrations will be held on May
9 this year. This is the 153rd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
He was a freedom fighter, educational
reformist through experimental school at Shantiniketan, painter, musician and a
novelist. His poetry caught the imagination of his countrymen and the world. He
won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for Gitanjali.
Ravindra Jayanti or Poncheeshe Boishakh
